He told : "The only thing I can say about it is that the clubs are negotiating. I am in the waiting room. It's clear to me that I would like to go to Liverpool. I'm now waiting to see whether the clubs will reach an agreement, but I have every confidence in that. It is now up to the clubs and as the central figure you have to respect that. More will become clear in the coming days."
THE BIG PICTURE
Slot, who has won two trophies since taking over as Feyenoord manager in 2021, was previously linked with Leeds while they were in the Premier League and other European sides, but he has now made it crystal clear that he wants the Liverpool job. After failing to lure Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso and Sporting CP's Ruben Amorim to Anfield, the Reds may have finally found a Klopp replacement.
